A Dana Air aircraft with registration number 5N BKI, which was flying from Abuja to Lagos on Tuesday, April 24 skidded off the runway at the Lagos Airport.
The airline’s head of corporate communications, Kingsley Ezenwa confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to him, all 83 passengers and crew onboard the flight disembarked safely without injuries or scare as the crew handled the situation with utmost professionalism.
He further explained that the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) have been updated on the incident and the aircraft involved has been grounded by its maintenance team for further investigation.
Ezenwa apologised and appreciated passengers on the affected flight for their patience and understanding.
He reassured passengers that their safety will always be the airline’s top priority, and it is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
